i Have a Checklist of Daily Care for Each Critter
This one does not need much explanation, however I will say that this method is optimal for those eager beavers who are rewarded by the sight of a checkmark on their daily agenda. My dad helped make this checklist for my sister and I when we were younger (he grew up in post-war Czechoslovakia and really appreciates an environment of military-like organization). Don’t misunderstand me – it was great fun (except when bicycling was on the list), and pleased the organizational geek inside of me. It goes something like this:

Naturally there was more, including such things as jogging, mountaineering, and foreign language training. And this love of organization has followed me to this very day, as I still use the chart, modified to encompass my present-day activities. We are rarely applauded for waking up or brushing teeth as adults, but we can quietly give ourselves a pat on the back, because we all know these are some of the hardest things to face.
